This morning we drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley. We arrive at Lake
Nakuru National Park in time for a mid-morning game drive.
Enjoy lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Game lodge as we get ready for our afternoon short
game viewing drive.
Lake Nakuru is world famous also as a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos. Besides that,
more than 400 species of birds can be seen in the park. Between the lake and the cliffs in the west,
large pythons inhabit the dense woodland, and can often be seen crossing the roads or dangling
from trees.
Lake Nakuru is among Kenya’s finest national parks. Flanked by rocky escarpments,
pockets of acacia forest, and at least one waterfall, the park is gorgeous year-round and
is home to both black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, hippos, and endangered
Rothschild giraffes.
After breakfast, we will drive along the floor of the famous Great Rift Valley to the
Masai Mara.
Along the way, you’ll stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for a stunning panorama
of the lakes, plains, and volcanic terrain that dominate the region. You’ll later stop in
the Masai town of Narok to stretch your legs before continuing on to Kenya’s most
