The Itinerary:
Join me for a unique Saigon evening street food adventure, where we'll take you on a culinary journey off the beaten path to discover authentic local flavors. I will take you to 5 Great Streets for Street Food in Saigon with ZERO Tourists inside where I live far away from the city center. I have eaten all the foods a thousand times and now I have created this tour to share my experience with you. I designed this food tour with a small amount of food at every stop, so I promise you will have many food tastings, please prepare your stomach.
Let's rock and roll to the first stop.
1. "Bo La Lot" - beef wrapped in betel leaf, BBQ beef combined with green herbs & special dipping sauce, this restaurant is recommended by the Michelin Guide, has been opening more than 30 years. COSTS 1$ USD
2. Following locations, sightseeing around Hoang Sa River, catching your breath, and slowing down at "Banh Canh Cua" – This is Crab Noodle Soup, gooey, slimy, crab-based concoction uses thick and doughy noodles, you must try. COSTS 1$ USD
3. "Xoi Chien", known as the best Vietnamese Hamburger, is deep-fried sticky rice with Filling: minced pork, mushroom, carrot, mung beans, pork floss. COSTS LESS THAN 0,5$ USD
4. "Banh Xeo" and "Banh Khot" are savory pancakes that come in different shapes. This unique pancake-origin from Central. COSTS 2$ USD
5. "Banh Mi", my Banh Mi has a so special liquid sauce, join me to taste it and see why it's unique - COSTS 1$ USD
6. " Banh Cuon" - the steamed spring rolls, thin, steamed rice batter rolls filled with ingredients, it times to learn how to cook it, the vendor who will teach you how to make it. COST 1$ USD
7. Find the best dessert hang out spot for young generation, we will try "Che Khuc Banh" is white block sweet soup, The combination of the creamy panna cotta, the sweetness of the syrup, and the crunchiness of the toppings - COST 1$ USD
8. Last stop, we take you to the area is a popular hangout spot for young people and students, and enjoy the amazing views of the Saigon River
(All local Vietnamese street food stalls have Safe Food Certificate)
- Food will be separated, and please pay for it by yourself. We will share meals with other people, so you can try more dishes, every dish just costs less than 1$ - 2$ USD, even some places less than 0,5$ USD. It is a lot of fun, cheap, and suitable for your budget as well. So join us, you will have a lot of fun.
NOTE: I want to confirm that the tour is by SCOOTER, not walking. The tour lasts 4 hours, not including food and coffee as stated in my description. I can pick you up at your hotel address in central districts 1,3, or 4. Other local districts, you will meet us at the meeting place, Saigon Opera House.
Because this tour is by scooter, so we will have 2 options for you:
First option: The rented scooter fee is 8$ USD = 200,000 VND per scooter, you drive it by yourself, you need to get scooter international license, you will be responsible for accidents, broken scooters, or anything happens on the tour, I don't cover insurance for this. This option is group tour, we need 5 guests to start. You must know how to drive the scooter well and confident with driving in this traffic. After the tour 4 hours, if you don't want to return the scooter, you can keep it as long as in 24 hours, it is a price you rent the scooter in a day.
Second option: We will be your drivers & tour guides, you will sit behind our scooters, each tour guide drives each guest, including insurance for your accidents. This option is a private tour, so I can even conduct the tour with 1 guest. I will be your driver and tour guide who are spoken English very well.
(if you can not do the first option, you can consider choosing second option or choose other walking tours if you feel it inconvenient)
