This tour will let you see how two different religions and cultures co-exist peacefully in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath lies on the banks of the Bagmati River and this Hindu Temple precinct consists of temples, ashrams, inscriptions and images. Boudhanath area, which is just 5 mins drive away from Pashupatinath, is rich in Tibetan Culture within Kathmandu and is home to more than 50 Tibetan Monasteries (Gompas).
Religion is a way of life and at the heart of every religion lies designated sacred places where deities are remembered and worshipped. These sacred places are often the birthplace centre of the finest architecture, symbols, and culture within that religion. Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa also bear these hallmarks.
The trip will last for about 4 hours. I will come to meet our destination in Kathmandu. As soon as all of our team members assemble, We walk to pashupatinath temple. At the site, I will brief you about Hindu Belief, the importance of Pashupatinath, its history and major festivals and how they are celebrated. If you time your visit right, you might also witness them first-hand. Next, we will head to Boudhanath – located on the northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu. This is one of the sites in the world, where you can actually observe everyday rituals carried out by Tibetan Monks. Boudhanath is believed to entomb the remains of Kassapa Buddha. We will spend some time there at Tibetan Art Gallery and some of the popular monastery.
