Our meeting point is Plaza de BolĂvar, right in front of the church doors. You’ll easily recognize us—our guide will be holding a green umbrella with the name Oaca Colombia on it. Please keep in mind that the square is usually very crowded, and there are often people pretending to be guides. If you don’t see us right away, feel free to contact us so we can assist you.
Hello! We are Oaca Colombia, and our Essential Free Tour is the perfect way to discover the heart and soul of our beautiful city.
As we explore the vibrant neighborhoods of Candelaria, La Concordia, and Las Aguas, you’ll dive into Bogotá’s origins, learn about the Indigenous tribe that once lived here, uncover the legend of El Dorado, and relive key moments such as Colombia’s independence, the Bogotazo, and the country’s most impactful historical events.
Along the route, you’ll also enjoy fantastic views of Bogotá’s most iconic plazas and landmarks—seen from the outside—including the Congress, the Mayor’s Office, the Supreme Court, the Presidential Palace, BolĂvar’s House, the Botero Museum, La Candelaria Church, Chorro de Quevedo, a traditional local market, Journalists’ Park, and much more.
We’ll introduce you to cultural legends like Fernando Botero and Gabriel GarcĂa Márquez, while sharing what everyday life in Bogotá looks like—its art, flavors, traditions, and smart local tips that will make your stay unforgettable. The tour lasts about three hours and is designed to be fun, informative, and full of great photo opportunities.
In the free tours, there is no established price. Participants can evaluate the guide's performance and, at the end of the tour, contribute with the amount they consider convenient according to their experience and level of satisfaction.
